Here’s a recent news story coming out of Milwaukee but not uncommon in several other parts of the US.  As the stock market has stagnated people are realizing that the safest place to invest their money is in the real estate market.  Here’s an excerpt from this news story:

“At age 36, Michael Baron has a bit of time before hitting retirement age, but he’s thinking about it.

“I tell my wife that I want to retire when I’m 45 and she laughs at me because I can’t sit still. I work seven days a week,” Baron says.

Baron may be a workaholic, but he’s spending some of that energy building his nest egg. He is not investing in typical stocks and bonds; rather, he’s betting on real estate.

“I would say that right now, 90 percent of my retirement account is in real estate,” Baron says.

You’ve probably heard the statement that “Success Leaves Clues” and it’s certainly true as ever today.

There is a major investment group that has disclosed some of their painful lessons and success.  The success that the group has had has been in real estate investing.  Here’s an excerpt from the article:

Real estate saw the largest increase in allocation over the past year, five percentage points. This increase started in the second quarter of 2011 and reached 24% by the fourth quarter. In the current low-interest-rate environment, members like real estate because it offers additional tax advantages, the statement said.

It said members also may favor this allocation because those who missed some of the upside in the public equity markets looked to real estate (especially distressed opportunities) to make up some lost ground. Similar to private equity, many members have created their wealth in real estate and can make astute evaluations of these investments, according to the statement.

Amerik and Bill Patara are both recent immigrants hungry to chase the American dream. With Las Vegas market heating up with a soon-to-be shortage of inventory, they wrote 12 contracts in this exciting market. Just like that they are not only in the race, but they’re leading.

They completed their mentorship on the 16th of February and have gotten four of their offers accepted. Bill said that their best deal was a single family house in Henderson built in 2007. This house was purchased in 2007 for $337,445. It was put on the market for $165,000 and reduced last week to $150,000. Jason the leader of the Las Vegas power team negotiated the property down to $124,000 for Amerik and Bill. This was an amazing accomplishment considering that two very similar properties in the neighborhood sold for $160,000 and $160,700 Jan 31st and February 2nd of this year.
